The purpose of these grant funds is to assist States in operating programs for the repayment of educational loans of health professionals in return for their practice in Federally-designated health professional shortage areas to increase the availability of primary health services in such areas. Of the estimated 10 awards, 7 are project period renewals and 3 new awards.
